Mamma, let’s go for Garden Yoga

Nowadays, children’s love to play on gadgets and electronic devices so much that they are less exposed to the outside world. During our childhood, our mothers played a vital role to take us to the park every day for our physical activities. We used to play much more than our kids are playing now. I personally too make it a point that my son performs some form of physical activity rather than sitting indoors. They tend to learn so many things from outside world:-

-         They know how to make friends.

-         They create team building amongst themselves.

-         Sharing and caring etiquette is developed within them and others.

My son is so used to this routine that as soon as it is 6pm he starts saying, “Mamma, let’s go garden.” Once I was going to a park there I saw kids performing garden yoga. It was so much fun to see such a nice concept, very informative and playful for kids. Their teacher was teaching them in such a beautiful way, that they were enjoying each and every single pose. I would love to share garden yoga with all my friends:-

1)  PRETEND TO BE A TREE: - This is known as a Tree pose. You need to stand on one leg, bend the other knee & place the sole of your foot on your inner thigh. This pose teaches us how to balance our body.

2) PRETEND TO BE A FROG: - This is known as Squat Pose. Come down to a squat with your knees apart and your arms resting between your knees. Touch your hands to the ground. Jump up like a frog and then return to a squat position. This pose teaches us how to focus and increase our awareness.

3) PRETEND TO BE A SEED:-This is known as Child’s Pose. Sit back on your heels, slowly bring your forehead down to rest on the floor in front of your knees, rest your arms down alongside your body, and take a few deep breaths. Pretend to be a seed in the garden. This pose teaches us how to surrender our self to almighty & keep our ego down.

4) PRETEND TO BE A BUTTERFLY: - This is known as Butterfly Pose. Gently come up and sit on your buttocks with a tall spine. Bend your legs, place the soles of your feet together, and gently flap your legs like the wings of a butterfly. This increases your flexibility.

5) PRETEND TO BE A FLOWER: - This is known as Flower Pose. From Butterfly Pose, lift your bent legs, balance on your sitting bones, and weave your arms under your legs with your palms facing up. Pretend to be a blossoming flower.

The kids were really having a nice time. The technique and method used was unique & useful for kids to relate with the environment.
So we been such an amazing mothers, we should make it a routine that our children’s lead a gadget free evening and spend quality time in the park making cute little friends.
